Final Project: Each student will create and publish their very own illustrated storybook or comic!
Bring your imagination to life! Students will learn how to turn their ideas into illustrated stories and comics. They’ll develop characters, create storylines, write short stories, and draw original illustrations to bring their words to life.
Students will explore simple illustration techniques, comic panels, character design, and storytelling while creating their own unique books. Each student will work toward completing a fully illustrated storybook or comic book that will be professionally printed and published for them to take home at the end of the class.
No advanced drawing or writing experience is needed—just creativity and a love of storytelling!
What students will explore:
- Character creation and design
- Story development and creative short story writing
- Drawing scenes, settings, and illustrations
- Comic strips, panels, and speech bubbles
- Book layout, covers, and page design
- Editing and preparing a finished book for printing
