Looking for a dynamic, hands-on art experience for your student? This exciting course moves beyond traditional drawing and painting to explore the world of three-dimensional art, texture, and creative design. Students will develop skills in sculpture, construction, and mixed media while learning how to transform their ideas into unique, keepsake-quality works of art.
Throughout the semester, students will experiment with a variety of materials and techniques, including:
Sculpture & Ceramics: Creating plaster mold projects, hand-building clay fish or animal bowls, and glazing and painting custom ceramic pieces.
Textiles & Mosaic Art: Designing colorful tie-dye shirts and crafting intricate mosaic tile artwork using permanent materials and professional techniques.
Woodcrafts & Creative Design: Building layered graffiti-style name art on wood canvases, creating illuminated 3D ornaments, and constructing festive gingerbread-inspired structures.
As students work through increasingly complex projects, they will strengthen problem-solving skills, explore spatial design concepts, and gain confidence working with a wide range of artistic mediums. Each project encourages creativity, craftsmanship, and personal expression while introducing techniques used by professional artists and makers.
